Richard vonHoorn has been making art of all kinds, in every medium with everything he could find of interest from pieces of glass to bird feathers and piano parts. He creates pieces to provide unique interest for all. In addition he is an accomplished painter. After graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College as an art major, vonHoorn taught art for 24 years at Torrington High School in Connecticut. During that time he pursued many art ventures ranging from restoring church murals to decorating the side of a paddle wheel excursion boat. He continues to win prizes in exhibitions for his creative vision and use of materials. He works in oils, acrylics, collage and construction.
Ann vonHoorn uses watercolor painting, acrylic painting and photography to express her positive approach to life with color and design. Whether in photography, or painting in watercolor, oil or acrylic paint, she explores her vision of the natural world. Flowers, trees, or the seashore; people, or pets are all favorite subjects.

The oldest of five girls, I was born into a creative loving family of artists in Goldsboro North Carolina. Art has been a part of me from the earliest days I can remember and has run in our family for many generations. I grew up with my dad working late nights in his Art Shop and upside portraits high on the Shelf in the kitchen. That's how he said he found his mistakes. He attended the Feree School of Art in Raleigh in 1947. He is now 91 and is still a wonderful inspiration to me. Three out of five sisters are artists, all very different styles but it's definitely part of who we are and how we grow up. My son continues to keep the creative flow going with his career in Florida as a creative director of the Florida hospitals.
I was formally trained at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh while after starting my family. This leads me to a long fun career in television advertising and design, whereby my love for art could translate into the corporate world on the 55th floor of the U.S. Steel building in Pittsburgh. I produced commercials there for about 14 years. After that I returned to North Carolina and designed for the tropical Enterprise of Panama Jack for about 12 years until they decided to get out of the textiles in North Carolina. The last segment of my career was working with the Print and Design Industries within North Carolina state government. I am fortunate and now to be retired and living on the beautiful coast of North Carolina and jumping in Full Tilt with exploration of my artistic skills.
